Coleman is a native of Blackpool Lancashire. She attended Arnold School Blackpool as head girl, and she received every A grade on her A level exams. In a discussion about her Emmerdale role, Coleman stated that she regrets that she did not have a traditional University education. Coleman joined a theater company, In Yer Space while in school. They performed at the Edinburgh Festival for the play Crystal Clear. Along with receiving a prize for her acting skills, the show she performed was well received. Coleman was chosen for the Emmerdale part of Jasmine Thomas after auditioning with drama schools. In 2007 Coleman was nominated for two prizes. Coleman received two nominations in 2007 for Best Newcomer in the British Soap Awards; and the most Popular Newcomer in the National Television Awards. In the British Soap Awards of 2009 she received nominations in the categories of Best Actress and Sexiest female and the category for Best acting in a Drama. Coleman got the TV Choice Awards nomination for Best Actress. Steven Moffat revealed at a Doctor Who Press Conference on the 21st of March that Coleman was set to portray Matt Smith as the Doctor's companion after Karen Gillan, Arthur Darvill and other characters left the show. Moffat chose her for the part because she was the most successful when working with Smith and was able to speak faster than him. Eva Larue..............................Eva LaRue is an American actor and model. Since 1987, she's been involved in television and film projects. Her most well-known work is her television work rather than film. Eva's roles in TV series Dr. Maria Santos, in All My Children, and Detective Natalia Boa Vista in CSI Miami are notable. The former even earned her two nominations for the Daytime Emmy Awards and allowed her to experiment with her talents in music. Apart from being an actor Eva is a philanthropist and an businesswoman. She was married three times and is the mother of a child from her first husband.
