Ani Difranco

Angela Maria Ani DiFranco (born Angela Maria Ani DiFranco) is an American and Canadian singer-songwriter. She has released more than 20 albums. The music of DiFranco has been described as folk music as well as alternative rock, but it has additional influences from punk funk hip hop and jazz. Ani DiFranco, widely regarded as a female icon, and Grammy award-winning musician is widely regarded as to be the father of DIY music. She was one of the pioneers to establish an independent label back in the year 1990. DiFranco is the son of Elizabeth (Ross), and Dante Americo DiFranco.
